The Abu Dhabi Irish Guineas Festival will kick off the exciting summer season of racing at the Curragh this year when it takes place on 26th and 27th May
Elegance and style are always synonymous with the festival and this year the stakes will be even higher with Etihad Airways Ladies Day in association with Irish Tatler on Sunday. Focus on the track will feature a clash of Europe’s top fillies, who will be competing for classic race glory in the Etihad Airways Irish 1000 Guineas, while our top middle distance performers compete in the Tattersalls Gold Cup. 1st race is 2.10pm
The lure of the top prizes from the world’s leading airline including a holiday to Abu Dhabi for the overall winner will have ladies from all over the country keen to take part in the search for the Classic Icon. Judges include Dragon’s Den mentor Norah Casey, top designer Patrick Casey and television and radio presenter Claire Byrne.
For those ladies who really love to make the most of putting together a great race day outfit, why not think about entering the competition and convince friends to join you. This year, the Curragh will encourage ladies to pre-register before the day through their new look website www.curragh.ie, however it will still be possible to register on the race days while roaming fashion police will also be inviting fashionably dressed race goers to enter the competition.
