Enjoy the hilarious musical comedy 'Improbable Frequency' at The Gaiety Theatre on Wednesday 14th March, with a premium seat ticket and programme.
A pulsating cabaret style musical of spies, physics, femme fatales and double crossing which returns after its very successful runs in Dublin, Edinburgh and New York, Arthur Riordan’s 'Improbable Frequency' follows the exploits of British codebreaker Tristram Faraday’s secret mission to 1941 Dublin to investigate suspicious radio broadcasts.
There are improbable encounters with the likes of John Betjeman, the English Poet moonlighting as a spy; Erwin Schrodinger the lascivious Austrian Nobel Prize physicist, Myles na gCopaleen, the surreal Irish Times satirist ; and Agent Green, and old flame of Tristram’s and fellow spy and crossword enthusiast.
In order to avert disaster and perhaps impress the lovely Philomena, Tristram will have to draw on his uncanny ability to solve crossword puzzles and his.. well, that’s pretty much all he can draw on actually.
Directed by Rough Magic’s Lynne Parker, Riordan’s witty script is transported by Bell Hellicopter’s whimsical original score and stellar musicians – Ellen Cranitch, Conor Sheil, Des Lacey and Cathal Synnott.
