Almost 20 years ago Ely Place is where it all began when Erik and Michelle Robson opened ELY WINE BAR. ELY has always focused on the importance of food provenance and the community of artisan producers and suppliers, who enhance the quality of the food experience.
ELY now has 2 outstanding venues in Dublin city: ELY BAR & GRILL in Dublin’s Docklands and ely wine bar, the iconic and original Dublin wine bar with an intimate, elegant setting in the heart of Georgian Dublin.
Located in the historical CHQ building, ELY BAR&GRILL once functioned as a wine and whiskey warehouse. The original 1821 breathtakingly beautiful cellars are still in place and have been transformed to become a unique and intimate restaurant setting.
ELY BAR & GRILL is open from noon each day serving Lunch, Brunch, Pre-Theatre and Dinner menus, with our friendly team on hand to assist. The Atrium Bar and Outdoor Terrace provide a lively spot for pre concert or after work drinks in the area, with a great selection of craft beers, gins and cocktails.

Enjoy great Irish ingredients, cooked beautifully and paired with two lovely Bordeaux wines.
The white is Chateau Sainte Marie 2017 which is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from the Entre-Deux-Mers, a lovely rich white with a lively finish and perfect with the Tandoori Prawns or Cod.
For the red ELY has selected a Bordeaux Superieur, Chateau Canon la Foret 2016
A very classic style Bordeaux with a modern twist, full of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and plum fruit. Very well made and instantly enjoyable.
You can enjoy both wines by the glass and ELY pours 4 glasses to the bottle so feel free to mix it up.
