To celebrate their 1st anniversary the critically acclaimed Morehampton Brasserie, above Donnybrook Fair, are offering Rewarding Times members a 3 course à la carte dinner for two people including a specially selected bottle of wine for only €79.

With a commitment to food provenance The Morehampton Brasserie has sourced the very best local meat, the freshest seafood and the best local seasonal vegetables. Guests can look forward to 10oz dry aged rib eye steak from their award winning master butcher James Tormey, Mulingar (exclusive to The Morehampton Brasserie), pan seared Kilkeel scallops are very popular as is the asparagus with crisp poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The mouth-watering desserts, all made in house, such as the dark chocolate soufflé with salted butterscotch or the Bailey’s and white chocolate cheesecake with honeycomb, make for a delicious end to the meal.

Bottle of white:            La Raia, Gavi, 2013   

At the moment, La Raia is probably making the best tasting Gavi’s on offer and has achieved this with biodynamic certification from demeter.  Great aromatic finesse and structure make this wine an excellent aperitif and a perfect accompaniment to light courses and seafood dishes.

Bottle of Red:              Alpha Zeta, Valpolicella Ripasso, 2012

This multi award winning wine is ruby red in colour with a concentrated perfume of red and black cherries, with the ripasso adding adried cherry intensity. Full bodied on the palate, with a lovely balance between opulent cherry-pie and supple structure.  Good length with a mouth-watering bitter cherry twist on the finish. This wine pairs perfectly with red meat dishes especially duck and rib eye steak. It also works well with cheese and rich chocolate desserts.
